It’s that time of year when all of us last minute shoppers are scrambling around for the best gifts that we can find. I mean…not that I know anything about that. Well this year I’ve got a gift guide chock full of lovely gifts I think nearly anyone would love to receive, from travelers to foodies to gifts that give back, I hope this makes your annual shopping a bit easier. Of course if it’s already Christmas Eve, few people would complain about some homemade cookies and a bottle of gorgeous booze.
Gifts That Give Back
Parker Clay leather goods- These incredible, hand-made leather goods help lift Ethiopian women out of poverty. I own 3 of their gorgeous bags, and wish I had many more. So many beautiful gifts for both men and women! For a Discount, use the code Brittany22 between now and the end of the year.
Humble Hilo bags- Humble Hilo also works to lift women out of poverty through education and job opportunities. They sell more than just bags, but their bags.are.gorgeous. They have all the beautiful, colorful prints of Guatemala. I’ve been drooling over them for literally years.
Noonday Collection jewelry- Noonday Collection sells totally gorgeous, modern, trendy jewelry and accessories made by artisan partners overseas. I love companies that support global entrepreneurship and lifting families out of poverty by creating a market for their goods. Besides that, their products are unique, and there really is something for every taste.
TOMS- In my mind, TOMS is the original one-for-one business. It has been replicated many, many times since then. But they’re the first big company that made it their mission to give products and services away to those in need. Many people think of just their canvas classic shoes, but they also have beautiful leather boots, stylish sunglasses, and funky bags. They give away a different one-for-one product or service for each product you buy.
Gifts for Foodies
Balanced Bites Spices- These fresh, organic spice blends are perfect for any kitchen. Just a dash easily elevates any dish. The jars are huge, so they’ll last a while. And the blends are so delicious and unique, you won’t find them anywhere else.
Primal Palate spices- While these spice blends may be slightly more traditional than the Balance Bites Spices, they are also organic and fresh and really high quality. They’re so fragrant and perfectly blended, it made me realize what crap I was using before. I use their pumpkin pie spice religiously. It’s the best I’ve ever had.
Gold Bakeware (with a personal touch)- Since I love baking (and used to be known for my baked good in my friend circle), I love gifting good quality bakeware. I’ve had these gold pans for years and love them. We truly use the baking sheets daily. The most special thing about a gift like this is including one of your favorite recipes with it. Recipes create legacies, and make your gift even more personal
Di Oro Spatulas- I love these spatulas. It may sound dumb to those who don’t cook, but they’re the best I’ve ever used. I love that they’re seamless so they don’t get food stuck in any crevices. And they’re warrantied forever, so your gift will keep on giving. They’re the perfect stocking stuffer.
Greenpans- Until last year I used toxic teflon non-stick pans. When I decided to switch them out for something healthier, I found Green Pans. I have been loving them! The use ceramic to create a non-toxic, non-stick surface. There are many sets available, but one I linked is the perfect pan for any kitchen. It’s 12 inches, so it’s good for both big and small jobs. And it comes with a sturdy glass lid. I love having a lid, sometimes you just need one and nothing else will do. And since it’s glass, you can peek in and see how your food is cooking.
Wustof Knives- I truly believe that some people think they’re bad at cooking, or they don’t enjoy it, simply because they have rotten equipment. With kitchen tools you really get what you pay for. Trying to prepare a meal with dull knives and thin bottomed pans is just a recipe for disaster. But, if you have really great knives you only really need a few. The most important ones are a good chopping knife like a chef’s knife, and a small paring knife. If you’ve got those, you’re ready to get cooking. These Wustof knives are top quality and make chopping all the veggies a breeze.
Gifts for Travelers
For travelers I think putting together a small, curated kit of their favorite things is just lovely. This allows them to have some of the comforts of home, and stay healthy and happy while they’re on their journeys.
Primally Pure lip balm- It’s so easy to get dried out and dehydrated, especially on long flights. This chapstick is like little angel wings brushing again your lips. This would be a divine stocking stuffer for anyone, but it’s essential in a travel kit.
Beauty Counter sunscreen- For someone going on a cruise, or heading south to the equator, sunscreen is necessary for their pale winter skin. Beauty Counter is the hottest thing going in beauty, and for good reason. Their high quality products use safer ingredients. Their sunscreen will keep your skin safe without any hormone disruptors or other toxic ingredients.
Snack Pack- This is obvious, but anyone traveling should take their favorite snacks with them. I think there should be a good mix of sweet and savory, aka some salty nuts and some chocolate. One of my favorite places to grab these little snacks (and even things like hot sauce and mini olive oils and balsamic vinegar bottles) is World Market. But putting their favorite snacks in a little pouch is perfect for any short or long trip.
Travel Kettle, travel mug, and tea- Routines can be important to maintain while traveling. My belly always gets weird when I travel, but sticking to my routine and diet from home helps me feel my best so I can enjoy my trip! Is there anything as comforting as a hot drink?? This collapsible travel kettle, a travel mug, and their favorite tea is the perfect combo for enjoying that warm morning drink and starting the day feeling great.
Insulated Water Bottle- Staying hydrated while out adventuring is super important. And it can get quite expensive in countries that don’t commonly give away water. Taking a refillable water bottle ensures there is always refreshing, free, water as they head out on their trip.
Reusable straws- Hopefully we all know now that single-use plastics are literally ruining our oceans. From grocery store bags to straws, billions of pieces of plastic are in our oceans, damaging wildlife, and even finding its way back into our food system (since we eat fish). When traveling and stopping at lots of restaurants, do your part to say no to straws. I love this little travel pouch, I keep it in my purse at all times, which helps me reduce the amount of plastic I use, which is good for my body and good for the earth!
Gifts for Health Nuts
Resistance Bands- These lightweight bands can help get a quick workout in just about anywhere! Just toss them in the car, a gym bag, a suitcase and wherever they land they can stay fit.
Collagen powder- I blend this into my coffee every single morning. It’s so great for nails and hair and glowing skin, but also for sealing and healing your gut lining. A tub of this high quality collagen will be appreciated by any health nut.
Gym Bag- Everyone needs a good gym bag that can keep their clothes clean and folded, keep stinky shoes separate, and has a dry pocket for wet swim suits. This one is so inexpensive, but has all the features needed! It’ll fit in a normal gym locker, and also has pockets for water bottles and quick access pockets for things like keys and a phone. No need to spend hundreds of dollars.
The Daily Burn membership- The Daily Burn is like having a workout class in your home everyday. The monthly memberships are totally affordable, and they offer a large variety of classes! This really makes staying (or getting) in shape so convenient!
Essential Oils and a Diffuser- Essential oils are the gold standard in any health nut’s medicine cabinet. These magical oils help with everything from relaxation and sleep to killing germs and supporting digestion! I swear that using the Thieves blend in my diffuser has kept me healthy when I’m surrounded by sick people at work (in a clinic) each winter. These oils are super high quality and the diffusers are beautiful touch for an office or living room.
