Here in Denver the Farmer's Markets are only open a few months out of the year. I am always jealous of people who get them year round! But what with the snow and all, our growing seasons are fairly limited. I get so excited when the markets finally open in May, but there's mostly just salsas and pies and coffee. Now we're finally beginning to see some Colorado produce at our markets.Read More
Sorry I've been MIA for so long! If i'm honest, I've just been feeling burnt out and worn out. Not with the blog, fortunately, just other life stuff. But I felt like I needed some rest, so for my 1 year blogiversary that's what I gave myself, haha. I don't know about you, but summer is my FAVORITE! I used to love fall, but then terrible winter comes (I feel like I've said this all before). Blerg. So I've transitioned to a summer lover. I love the long, long days, short nights, fresh produce, festivals, outdoor concerts, margaritas by the pool, and most importantly: time off work! Freedom!Read More
One of my co-workers grew up in a Mexican-American household eating all the yummy homemade Mexican food. Unfortunately, she isn't very comfortable with cooking. I think that is compounded by having 3 picky eaters to feed. But, she often makes shrimp soup that looks so good. In a genius move, she blends the veggies into the broth so her kids can't pick them out of the soup.Read More
The weekend is just around the corner, so I think it's time to celebrate with the world's easiest cocktail! This delicious cocktail contains just 3 simple ingredients. In place of the traditional ginger beer, I use ginger kombucha. This didn't taste distinctly like kombucha to me, but I drink kombucha daily, so perhaps I'm not the best person to ask.Read More
