If you haven’t heard, or looked outside, it’s already snowing in parts of the country. Yikes! Let’s all make these burgers and pretend we’re on a Hawaiian vacation. They’re a little sweet from the pineapple and a little spicy from the jalapeño. Add bacon and a creamy pineapple BBQ sauce, and why ever eat another burger again??Read More
Here in Denver the Farmer's Markets are only open a few months out of the year. I am always jealous of people who get them year round! But what with the snow and all, our growing seasons are fairly limited. I get so excited when the markets finally open in May, but there's mostly just salsas and pies and coffee. Now we're finally beginning to see some Colorado produce at our markets.Read More
Sorry I've been MIA for so long! If i'm honest, I've just been feeling burnt out and worn out. Not with the blog, fortunately, just other life stuff. But I felt like I needed some rest, so for my 1 year blogiversary that's what I gave myself, haha. So I finished the school year, I went to Nashville to visit my friend and her brand new twin girls (they were tiny and sweet and I literally died over them), and then visited my whole family in for a week long family vacation in Seattle. It was fun to see everyone and our Airbnb was gorgeous. And as a bonus, I got to see a few friends while we were there, too! Now.....on to the food!Read More
I think I had short ribs for the first time like, 2 or 3 years ago, and man had I been missing out! They're so tender they just fall apart. They're so moist and sumptuous. They are not inexpensive, but they are so worth it, at least occasionally.
In this recipe I paired short ribs with my Spicy Pineapple BBQ Sauce and my BBQ Dry Rub for layers and layers of flavor. The best part about this dish is that the slowcooker makes these a breeze, but also super impressive. Serve these to your significant other and they'll love you forever. Or serve them to yourself and you'll love you forever, too.Read More
The Holidays are such a delicious time of year! As I'm sure this list will grow, I've already got some amazing holiday recipes on the blog. From appetizers to a special cocktail, there's all kinds of stuff. The one thing you won't find are desserts. How is it possible? Well, just wait until Thursday! I've got an entire post coming that is all holiday treats! I've been doing a series of treat recipes over at Edible Baja Arizona's blog, so it will be a round-up of all of those recipes, as well as a brand new cookie recipe! Alright, now let's plan that menu!Read More
Is cranberry sauce a standard at your Thanksgiving dinner? We generally have it, either from a can or homemade. After making my own version this year, I've decided that it's a highly underrated side dish! Of course it's delicious with turkey and potatoes, but what about on top of pancakes? I'd eat that! Or perhaps stuffed inside some cookies (watch for a recipe in a couple weeks), or even just slathered on some toast! I think we need to think outside the box a bit.Read More
