Between the pickled veggies, salsa, and now this dressing I've been showing the Sauces + Condiments section a lot of love, lately! That's what really makes a meal special though, isn't it? And as I continue to add content to my site, I want you to find fun new recipes, as well as old classics. This Italian dressing is a pretty classic version that can be used as either salad dressing or a marinade!
Out of all things you can do for your health, making your own salad dressing is such an easy change! We make big, gorgeous salads packed with fresh veggies, and then we pour store-bought dressing on top. They're made mostly of corn syrup, rancid oils, and chemicals. Homemade dressings have much better ingredients, but they also taste so much better than store-bought. And they happen to be quick and easy. So toss out the old bottled stuff, and give this a try. You can add some honey if you'd like, but I leave it out to keep this recipe Whole 30 and 21 day sugar detox compliant.
1/2c extra virgin olive oil
1/4c white wine vinegar
1 1/2t dried minced garlic
1t dried basil
1t dried oregano
1/2t dried parsley
1/4t ground black pepper
1/4t red pepper flakes
1/8t ground rosemary
- Add all ingredients to a small blender or bowl. I prefer a blender because it leaves a more creamy texture, but a bowl will work just fine.
- Blend or whisk until the oil has emulsified, and all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
