This blog has been in existence for far too long without a guacamole recipe. How did that happen? Guacamole is life! So this is my favorite guacamole recipe. I call it Green Guac because everything that goes inside is green! And because of alliteration.
It's super basic, but I think I'm a purist. I don't want pineapple or mango or tomatoes in my guac. Maybe some bacon, ok fine, I'd eat that, but that's where I draw the line. Bacon.
And if you need some ideas for what to dip, slather, or top with your guacamole, other than a tortilla chip (there's nothing wrong with tortilla chips) here are some ideas:
Really, anything at all is delicious with this guacamole. So whip up a batch of this! In fact, whip up 2 or 3 batches.
1 medium avocado (about 1 cup) mashed
2 green onions, thinly sliced
1 jalapeno, seeded and minced
2t lime juice
2T cilantro, chopped
- In a medium bowl, scoop out the flesh of the avocado and mash it with a fork until it's as smooth as you like it.
- Add all the other ingredients to the bowl and stir until well combined.
- That's it! Dip! Eat!
