This. Drink. Is. So. Good. I love having this first thing in the morning during the summer. It's so refreshing and replenishing, it's a great way to start the day. Matcha is delicious, but it's also a nutrient powerhouse. Most importantly for the purposes of this drink...it has caffeine. That makes it a great alternative to coffee.
A bit about nutrition: Caffeine really isn't great for your adrenal health. You really may not even realize how much it is masking adrenal issues until you stop drinking it (speaking from experience here...). Your adrenal glands are what keep you going, and make sure you're able to respond to threats and stress. When your adrenals are already struggling, caffeine is like a whip, pushing your adrenals to perform more and more and more. If you suspect your adrenal health is struggling a bit, or if you really rely on coffee to get you going in the morning, I encourage you to try substituting matcha for coffee. It is a much gentler form of caffeine, and it can help you wean off the coffee without terrible withdrawal symptoms.
So, because I love you, I've given you 2 delicious ways to ease off the caffeine and take care of your little adrenal glands. You are gonna love it. Let's do it!
Watermelon Matcha Cooler -2 Ways
- Throw everything in a blender, and blend until smooth. I recommend putting the soft items on the bottom (watermelon), and the hard items on top (frozen fruit, ice). This will help the blender keep going and not get too stopped up on the hard stuff.
- Sip sip sip
